热巧克力的智慧 The Wisdom In Hot Chocolate
一群事业有成的大学毕业生在一次班级聚会的时候议论他们的生活。
A group of graduates, well established in their careers, were discussing their lives at a class reunion.
他们决定去探访他们现已退休的教授，他总能赋予他们灵感。
They decided to go to visit their old university professor, now retired, who was always an inspiration to them.
在访谈中，话题转移到抱怨他们在工作、生活和人际关系方面的压力上。
During their visit, the conversation turned to complaints about stress in their work, lives and relationships.
教授招待他们热巧克力，他从厨房拿来一壶热巧克力和各式各样的杯子。
Offering his guests hot chocolate, the professor went into the kitchen and returned with a large pot of hot chocolate and an
assortment of cups.
有瓷器的、玻璃的、水晶的。有的看起来普普通通，有的看起来昂贵高级。
教授让他们自取巧克力。
Some cups were porcelain, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite. He invited each to help
themselves to the hot chocolate.
当他们每人手上都有一杯热巧克力的时候，教授就开始发表他的高论。
When they all had a cup of hot chocolate in hand, the professor shared his thoughts.
“请注意:
所有看起来好看的或贵重的杯子都被你们拿上了，剩下的都是些普通的便宜的杯子。”
“Notice that all the nice looking, expensive cups were taken, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones.”
“为自己挑一个最好的杯子是很正常的做法，但是这也正是你们的问题和压力的所在。”
“While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress.”
“你用的杯子并不提高你喝的巧克力的质量。在大多数情况里它只是比较贵而已，而在有些时候它还隐蔽了我们
在喝的东西。”
“The cup that you are drinking from adds nothing to the quality of the hot chocolate. In most cases it is just more expensive
and in some cases even hides what we drink.”
“你们每个人其实想要的是热巧克力，并不是想要杯子。但是你们却有意识地想要一个最好的杯子。”
“What each of you really wanted was hot chocolate. You did not want the cup ，but you consciously went for the best
cups.”
“并且很快你就开始留意别人手里的杯子。”
“And soon, you began to eye one another’s cups.”
现在，朋友！让我们来思考……
Now friends, please consider this…….
生活就是那巧克力，而你们的工作，金钱和社会地位就是那些杯子。
“Life is the hot chocolate, your job, money and position in society are the cups.”
它们只是支持和承载生活的工具。
“They are just tools to hold and contain life.”
你所持的杯子即不能说明，也不能改变你活着的生活质量。
“The cup you have does not define , nor does it change, the quality of life you are living.”
有些时候因为我们太关注于杯子，而不能享受上帝供给我们的热巧克力。
“Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup,
we fail to enjoy the hot chocolate God has provided us.”
要牢牢记住……
上帝酿制热巧克力，他并不选择杯子。
Always remember this . . . . . .
God brews the hot chocolate,
He does not choose the cup.
最快乐的人并非拥有他们每样事情的最好之处。
The happiest people don’t have the best of everything
他们只是对他们的事情做到尽力而为。
